About

History

New Zealand Dirt Track Racing has been supporting speedway since 1986, making it the longest running motorsport magazine in the country. The magazine is widely respected for catering to all levels of the speedway community, with a national network of contributing journalists and photographers.

Founding editor Lynda Kuriger was at the helm for the first 25 years, enduring the magazine survived the digital revolution by introducing colour and increasing the number of pages. Jeremy Savell modernised the publication and provided stability until Oval Superstars Limited acquired the magazine in April 2017. With strengths in online marketing and event management, NZDTR fits perfectly into the Oval Superstars portfolio, and a recent refresh has seen the magazine continue to make progress.

With national distribution to supermarkets, petrol stations and bookshops, plus subscriptions sent within NZ and around the world, the NZ Dirt Track Racing magazine team will remain at the forefront of speedway journalism for many years to come.
