The announcement of the closing of Western Springs was big news, the new fan panel segment saw questions fired at Stephen Taylor (Sprintcar 21w), the 1983 NZ Stockcar result was finally announced, and the two former editors of the magazine reflected on their time at the helm. Taylor Clarke’s win at the Sydney 50 lap Midget event led the news in issue 384 of NZ Dirt Track, with more than 10 Kiwis competing across the ditch to wide acclaim. The second annual People’s Choice Awards extended to six categories, with 1NZ Superstock William Humphries triumphing overall and new winners in the Track, Up and Comer, Lifetime Achiever, Breakout Performer and Stirrer Awards.
Car constructor Nathan Heyburn was interviewed, and on the track the magazine featured end of season coverage from Rosebank, Kihikihi, Meeanee, Palmerston North, Wellington and Beachlands. The June 2018 issue was also the last ever to be produced on newsprint, making it a collectors edition.
